Alchemy Guide by Immortality for quick skill-ups

Do not expect to make any gil using this guide. This guide is meant to just skill up quickly and either A.) Sell the crafted items to NPC shops or B.) Hope that the AH-Bot buys back your item. Purchase the crystals/clusters from !ah or farm them in Sky/Sea. Most of the items I will be listing will have a 8-10 level gap in them, so having Advanced Synthesis Support is a must. You will not get any skill-ups for any breaks if you are more than 5 levels under the skill level of the synth! All recipe items listed below can either be purchased from !ah and/or from shop/guild NPCs and/or obtained by farming them. Some recipe items you may already have from previous crafts. Scan through this entire guide to see if items previously crafted can be used in another craft. Some recipes may also be de-synthed (usually using a Lightning Crystal or Wind Crystal). Check the Item Tool for any of the ingredients of the craft to see if a recipe exists using the end item that was just crafted as the material with a de-synth result being one and/or more of the crafting materials. Helpful Guild Notes: Primary Alchemists' (Alchemy) Guild is located at (K/L-6/7) in Bastok Mines, Abd-al-Raziq is the Guild Master, Azima gives the Advanced Synthesis Support. The Guild shop is in the same building, but downstairs (one level) of the Guild. NPCs listed were based on cost then proximity from the primary guild location, if they aren't already guild NPCs. Primary guild location was chosen based upon frequency of NPC decided.

Recruit (0-10)

Tsurara (skill level 6): Ice Crystal + 1x (Chunk of) Rock Salt + 2x (Flask of) Distilled Water

• (Chunk of) Rock Salt is available from NPC Benaige at (F-7) (upstairs) in the Raimbroy's Grocery shop in Southern San d'Oria.
• (Flask of) Distilled Water is available from NPC Griselda at (H-5) (upstairs) in the Bat's Lair Inn in Bastok Mines.

Craft Tsurara until Alchemy skill is level 6.

(Pinch of) Poison Dust (skill level 12): Lightning Crystal + 2x Yellow Globe

• Yellow Globe can be purchased from !ah.
  • Yellow Globe also is available from the Fishermans' Guild shops onboard the boats that travel between Selbina⇔Mhaura, Al Zahbi⇔Nashmau, or Mhaura⇔Aht Urhgan Whitegate. Be warned though that on private servers, boats and airships are very buggy and players may get stuck in a black screen during depature and/or arrival.
    • If you ultimately decide to go this route, it is advised that you board the ship, wait for the trip to begin (hopefully without getting stuck in a black screen), purchase the Yellow Globes from the Fishermans' Guild NPC and then either use a Warp Ring, Warp spell/scroll, or one of the !tele player commands to leave the ship before the trip completes.

Craft (Pinch of) Poison Dust until Alchemy skill is level 10, turn in (Block of) Animal Glue for promotion, then continue crafting (Pinch of) Poison Dust until Alchemy skill is level 12.

 Promotion Item - (Block of) Animal Glue: While this is obviously craftable, it also is available from NPC Odoba at (K-6) in the Alchemists' Guild shop in Bastok Mines.

Initiate (11-20)

(Flask of) Poison Potion (skill level 18): Water Crystal + 1x (Vial of) Mercury + 1x (Pinch of) Poison Dust

• (Vial of) Mercury is available from NPC Maymunah at (K-7) in the Alchemists' Guild shop in Bastok Mines.
• (Pinch of) Poison Dust is available from NPC Odoba at (K-6) in the Alchemists' Guild shop in Bastok Mines.

Craft (Flask of) Poison Potion until Alchemy skill is level 18, turn in (Flask of) Poison Potion for promotion, then continue on.

 Promotion Item - (Flask of) Poison Potion (skill level 18): Water Crystal + 1x (Vial of) Mercury + 1x (Pinch of) Poison Dust

Novice (21-30)

(Pot of) Silent Oil (skill level 24): Water Crystal + 1x (Vial of) Slime Oil + 2x (Lump of) Beeswax

• (Lump of) Beeswax (skill level 5): Fire Crystal + 3x Beehive Chip + 1x (Flask of) Distilled Water

 • (Bag of) Poison Flour is available from NPC Pawrix at (H-10) in the Goblins' Goblet shop (located through Muckvix's Junk shop) in Lower Jeuno.
 • Sleepshroom only can be farmed.

Apprentice (31-40)

(Jar of) Firesand (skill level 40): Earth Crystal + 2x (Pinch of) Bomb Ash + 1x (Pinch of) Sulfur

Craft (Jar of) Firesand until Alchemy skill is level 37, turn in (Jar of) Firesand for promotion, then continue crafting (Jar of) Firesand until Alchemy skill is level 40.

 Promotion Item - (Jar of) Firesand: While this is obviously craftable, it also is available from NPC Odoba at (K-6) in the Alchemists' Guild shop in Bastok Mines.

Journeyman (41-50)

(Flask of) Holy Water (skill level 51): Light Crystal + 1x (Flask of) Distilled Water

• (Flask of) Distilled Water is available from NPC Griselda at (H-5) (upstairs) in the Bat's Lair Inn in Bastok Mines.

Craft (Flask of) Holy Water until Alchemy skill is level 37, turn in Fire Sword for promotion, then continue crafting (Flask of) Holy Water until Alchemy skill is level 51.

 Promotion Item - Fire Sword: While this is obviously craftable, !ah also stocks it so just buy it!

Craftsman (51-60)

Quake Grenade (skill level 58) (also requires Smithing skill level 29): Earth Crystal + 2x Iron Ingot + 3x (Pinch of) Bomb Ash + 2x (Jar of) Firesand + 1x (Pinch of) Sulfur

• Iron Ingot is available from NPC Amulya at (E-9) in the Blacksmiths' Guild shop in Bastok Metalworks.
• (Pinch of) Bomb Ash is available from NPC Odoba at (K-6) in the Alchemists' Guild shop in Bastok Mines.

Craft Quake Grenade until Alchemy skill is level 57, turn in Hi-Potion for promotion, then continue on.

 Promotion Item - Hi-Potion: While this is obviously craftable, !ah also stocks it so just buy it!

Artisan (61-70)

(Flask of) Venom Potion (skill level 68): Water Crystal + 1x (Vial of) Mercury + 1x (Pinch of) Venom Dust

• (Vial of) Mercury is available from NPC Maymunah at (K-7) in the Alchemists' Guild shop in Bastok Mines.
• (Pinch of) Venom Dust is available from NPC Odoba at (K-6) in the Alchemists' Guild shop in Bastok Mines.

Craft (Flask of) Venom Potion until Alchemy skill is level 67, turn in Acid Kukri for promotion, then continue on.

 Promotion Item - Acid Kukri: While this is obviously craftable, !ah also stocks it so just buy it!

Adept (71-80)

(Handful of) Venom(Vnm.) Bolt Heads (skill level 76) (also requires Smithing skill level 14): Wind Crystal + 1x Bronze Ingot + 1x (Block of) Animal Glue + 1x Flask of Venom Potion

• Bronze Ingot is available from NPC Amulya at (E-9) in the Blacksmiths' Guild shop in Bastok Metalworks.
• (Block of) Animal Glue is available from NPC Odoba at (K-6) in the Alchemists' Guild shop in Bastok Mines.
• (Flask of) Venom Potion (skill level 68): Water Crystal + 1x (Vial of) Mercury + 1x (Pinch of) Venom Dust

Craft Ouka Ranman until Alchemy skill is level 80, turn in X-Potion for promotion, then continue crafting Ouka Ranman until Alchemy skill is level 83.

 Promotion Item - X-Potion (skill level 77): Water Crystal + 2x (Sprig of) Sage + 1x Hecteyes Eye + 1x Reishi Mushroom + 1x (Flask of) Distilled Water

 • Hecteyes Eye is available from NPC Odoba at (K-6) in the Alchemists' Guild shop in Bastok Mines.

After you've turned in your Saida Ring (signed), you have multiple choices for Alchemy skill levels 100 through 110. Use the Item Tool and recipes on BG-Wiki/FFXIclopedia for other crafting level 100+ crafts but also then verify that the Item Crafting recipe exists for the end item here on HomepointXI and that the the Item Crafting ingredients are able to be obtained here on HomepointXI. Check these two things before you prepare your path to the end goal of Alchemy skill level 110!
