Reported sightings date back as far as the late 19th century and the creature is considered a local celebrity of sorts, similar to other lake monsters. Ogopogo was first featured in the Final Fantasy series in the Square game Final Fantasy IV, as a sub-boss in the Lunar Subterrane zone.
