Unauthorized Third Party Programs

Automated gameplay is not allowed. Recently there has been a surge in the number of players having a bot play for them while they are not present. The use of unapproved third party programs is expressly forbidden. Some examples of unapproved third party programs/addons are listed below. This is not an all encompassing list, if the program you are questioning will give you an unfair advantage over other players then it is not allowed on LegionDark.

Bots*

Including, but not limited to:

  • Craft
  • EXP
  • Farming
  • Magic skill up
  • Harvesting
  • Mining
  • Logging
  • Claim
  • Fish

*Cure bots are currently being allowed due to a shortage of WHM on the server

Speed and position hacks/programs

Including, but not limited to:

  • Speedhack
  • Wallhack
  • Maphack
  • Clipper
  • Fantasy Warp
  • Cupper
  • Gateway

Treasure pool management addons/plugins

  • Ashita treasure pool management plugins/addons are allowed.
    • Disclaimer: Any items lost while using treasure pool addons will not be restored. Usage of Lotomatic/Lootwhore is done at your own risk.
  • No Windower treasure pool management plugins/addons are allowed.
    • This is due to Windower treasure pool management plugins/addons spamming the server.

Buff/Debuff management addons/plugins

  • All Buff/Debuff management addons/plugins are not allowed.

Exploits

If you find any exploits PM a GM with details of the possible exploit as soon as possible. Taking advantage of these exploits will result in harsh disciplinary action.

Harassment

We are a diverse group of players on LegionDark, as such harassment by any means will not be tolerated. Some examples of unacceptable behavior are:

  • Any language that condemns any race, color, religion, nationality, sex, sexual orientation or gender identity.
  • Any language, character name, or Linkshell name that is purposely meant to harm or harass other players.

Other Unacceptable Behavior

  • Intentional use of a monster to kill another player (aka an MPK).
  • Breaking or circumventing normal game mechanics/physics.
  • Breaking or circumventing Level Sync.
  • Breaking level cap in battlefields.
  • Intentionally crashing, or attempting to crash the server.
  • Dualboxing in Limbus or Dynamis.

Auction House

The Auction house normally only allows seven listings per character. A Darkstar bug currently breaks this limit in a way that other servers did (and some still do) deliberately. When you have several hundred items get returned by auction expiry at once, this is more than your delivery box can hold. Any items lost in this manner will NOT be restored.

Additionally, mass listings of any single item can break that item at the AH, displaying a massive stock yet nobody can buy them at any price due to the database error this causes. This requires an individual player to list the exact same item in an insane amount many times larger than the server's entire player base. Should this occur, the overstock will be deleted without compensation in order to rescue the database from abuse.

We don't care if you list more than seven, but you do so ***at your own risk***. You probably won't have a problem unless you seriously try to break something or don't understand the meaning of the phrase "in moderation". Fifteen isn't going to be a problem, 1500 almost certainly is.

GM's

The GM's are here to help and keep the server going forward. GM's will not give information about content that would ruin the experience of discovery as well as the aspect of figuring things out on your own. Thus, things like respawn timers and such are not open for discussion with GM's.
GMs dedicate their free time to help make the server what it is. Every single one of them is a volunteer.

  • Follow all requests made of you by a GM.
  • If a GM asks you to create a ticket, create a ticket, else your issue will more than likely be lost to the sands of time. GM's are people too, they do forget things. Creating a ticket gives them a reminder that there is an issue that needs attention.

How To Get Help

We have an extremely helpful community! Please start by asking for help in the LegionDS linkshell, chances are that there is someone online that can answer your question. If this is a matter that needs specific GM attention please use the ticket system.

We want you to get the help you need in the fastest manner possible. The ticket system is the way to get that help! Asking in linkshell chat "Any GMs on?" will not get you a fast reply. GM's are not online in the game 24/7 and your request for help will be not be seen. If you submit a ticket *every* GM will see it, and the first one that is available to help will help you as soon as they can.

Private messages via the forums or Discord are not the fastest way to get help or get a question answered. Asking for help in Discord is fine, but please do not expect an instant answer. People in Discord tend to idle AFK a lot, and answer questions when they come back. By far the best way to get urgent help is the ticket system.

Notes and other info

  • Keep in mind sharing your account will link your character with another IP that does not belong to you.
    • If a character from that IP performs an action resulting in discipline, your characters will also be subject to the same punishment, up to and including loss of character/account.
    • You are responsible for who has access to your account and everything that happens on it.

  • An exploit is any behavior such as but not limited to abusing bugs or errors in game to obtain an unintended advantage. An "exploit bug" would be an exploit that relied on a bug.
    • If for example a player finds 2 NPCs where one buys an item for more than the other sells it for, and uses it to give their character maximum gil instead of reporting it.
That's a good way to lose all your gil and items and spend a few nights in Mordion..

  • A "non-exploit-bug" is any bug the server admins chose not to consider an exploit for whatever reason, at their sole discretion. The reason itself can vary.
    • An example is the auction listing bug where the 7 item limit is not properly enforced. Server admins have decided this isn't causing an economic apocalypse anytime soon.

As we continue to ensure a fun and balanced environment for LegionDark, we hope that our players enjoy the game as it was intended and take care to avoid involvement in activities that violate the server rules.
