Goldsmithing Guide by Raelious for quick skill-ups

  • Do not expect to make any gil using this guide. This guide is meant to just skill up quickly and either A.) Sell the crafted items to NPC shops or B.) Hope that the AH-Bot buys back your item. Purchase the crystals/clusters from !ah or farm them in Sky/Sea.


  • Most of the items I will be listing will have a 8-10 level gap in them, so having Advanced Synthesis Support is a must. You will not get any skill-ups for any breaks if you are more than 5 levels under the skill level of the synth!


  • All recipe items listed below can either be purchased from !ah and/or from shop/guild NPCs and/or obtained by farming them. Some recipe items you may already have from previous crafts. Scan through this entire guide to see if items previously crafted can be used in another craft.


  • Some recipes may also be de-synthed (usually using a Element: ThunderLightning Crystal or Element: WindWind Crystal). Check the Item Tool for any of the ingredients of the craft to see if a recipe exists using the end item that was just crafted as the material with a de-synth result being one and/or more of the crafting materials.


  • Helpful Guild Notes: Primary Goldsmiths' (Goldsmithing) Guild is located at (H-8) in Bastok Markets, Reinberta is the Guild Master, Fatimah gives the Advanced Synthesis Support. The Guild shop is located to the west of Reinberta (same floor, same building, different room).


  • NPCs listed were based on cost then proximity from the primary guild location, if they aren't already guild NPCs. Primary guild location was chosen based upon frequency of NPC decided.

Recruit (0-10)

Adept (71-80)

Editorial note from EpicTaru: For the above craft, the use of Advanced Synthesis Support from NPC Fatimah is 100% required to reduce the 12-level gap (from skill level 69 to skill level 81) down to a 9-level gap. You will fail the craft ("break") a lot and you will only get skill-ups when you successfully craft the end item. You will not get skill-ups from "breaks" of this craft until you are within 5 levels of the skill level of the craft (within 5 skill levels from 81)! If you are uncomfortable with all the "breaking" that will happen, look for (an) alternate/additional "bridge") recipe(s) to use until you are within 5 levels from the end skill level.

Craft "Various (higher craft skill level) gems/jewels" until Goldsmithing skill is level 77, turn in Torque for promotion, then continue crafting "Various (higher craft skill level) gems/jewels" until Goldsmithing skill is level 81.

Veteran (81-90)

If you have a good stock of "Elemental Ores":

After you've turned in your Evader Earring (signed), you have multiple choices for Goldsmithing skill levels 100 through 110. The ones listed below are the ones that Raelious provided. Other recipes may exist but these are what were listed on the original guide. Use the Item Tool and recipes on BG-Wiki/FFXIclopedia for other crafting level 100+ crafts but also then verify that the Item Crafting recipe exists for the end item here on HomepointXI and that the the Item Crafting ingredients are able to be obtained here on HomepointXI. Check these two things before you prepare your path to the end goal of Goldsmithing skill level 110!
